Important assignment submission dates

by Sharon Hackett -

Good morning all

A schedule of dates for submitting assignments are published at the start of each qualification within your administration and assignments area on Moodle. It is important that you adhere to these dates as late submissions will result in an automatic refer for that assignment.

If for any reason you are unable to meet these dates there is a possibility that you may be eligible for an extension. Extensions are only granted in exceptional circumstances – the Learner handbook lists them in section 8.5 extensions. The extension can be up to 14 days. If you feel that it may be longer you can request that the assignment is deferred or you may need an interruption to studies guidance on this can be found in the Essential documents area of our Moodle LMS. Work-related issues, IT problems, holidays and social activities will not count as exceptional circumstances; learners are expected to plan their studies around these dates.

To request an extension please contact your tutor via moodle messenger before your submission date.

Work which is submitted late, where no extension or deferral has been agreed, will automatically count as a refer. This will mean that you will lose one of your three opportunities to pass the unit. Susequently each time an agreed extended deadline has not been met, a further opportunity to submit your assignment will also be lost, up to a maximum of three.

Kind regards

Using your cohort code

by Moodle Admin -

If you contact the Housing Academy by email housing.academy@cih.org please ensure that you include your cohort code in the email subject title. You will find your cohort code in your Administration and Assignment area on Moodle.

Please also have this code available if you contact the Housing Academy by phone.

This will allow the Housing Academy Team to access your cohort and respond to your enquiry effectively, if you do not include your cohort code the response to your email may be delayed or returned with a request for this information.

Many thanks for your help.

Are you receiving emails from Moodle?

by Moodle Admin -

It’s essential that you are receiving emails sent out by Moodle so that you get the latest messages and news. If you find you are not receiving emails, please check that these are not falling into your ‘spam’ or ‘junk’ folder. If they are, you can usually mark them as ‘not spam’ or move them into your inbox to help ensure future emails don’t get sent to the wrong folder.

If you are using your own organisation’s email address, you may need to contact your I.T. dept to ensure that all messages from noreply@onlinelearning2.cih.co.uk are being allowed through.

There is also some guidance below if you are using one of the more popular free email systems. Note that the guidance is similar for most providers – you are looking to add noreply@onlinelearning2.cih.co.uk to a ‘whitelist’, a ‘safe senders list’ or to add this address to your contacts to ensure emails get through.
