A schedule of dates for submitting assignments are published at the start of each qualification within your administration and assignments area on Moodle. It is important that you adhere to these dates as late submissions will result in an automatic refer for that assignment.
If for any reason you are unable to meet these dates there is a possibility that you may be eligible for an extension. Extensions are only granted in exceptional circumstances – the Learner handbook lists them in section 8.5 extensions. The extension can be up to 14 days. If you feel that it may be longer you can request that the assignment is deferred or you may need an interruption to studies guidance on this can be found in the Essential documents area of our Moodle LMS. Work-related issues, IT problems, holidays and social activities will not count as exceptional circumstances; learners are expected to plan their studies around these dates.
To request an extension please contact your tutor via moodle messenger before
your submission date.
Work which is submitted late, where no extension or deferral has been agreed,
will automatically count as a refer. This will mean that you will lose one of
your three opportunities to pass the unit. Susequently each time an agreed extended deadline has not been met, a further
opportunity to submit your assignment will also be lost, up to a maximum of three.
